# Scouters

Scouters are a Hypergrafix novelty product inspired by an iconic AR device from a classic two-dimensional animated series that enjoyed broad popularity in a past era. The vintage cultural reference in combination with the legitimately useful form factor of the scouters has made them a popular device among runners and citizens in Mega City.

As with other Hypergrafix products, scouters are frequently hacked by runners in order to increase their functionality while remaining outwardly innocuous to prying eyes. Scouters provide only partial-view AR, and are often used as auxilliary displays in combination with other devices, or when one needs to be aware of one's surrounding.
